Default knife

anyone carry a knife when they ride? looking for a fixed blade knife and was wondering what you guys carried. i like the idea of the kabar short (5" blade) bt a little worried about being hassled by the cops.

I have an assortment of knives. I also have a kabar but only carried it once, last thing I need is the cops here in Chicago hassling me over a knife. I usually carry a folding knife.

I carry a folding knife with me pretty much at all times, but don't usually break out a fixed blade. States may allow the carry of a fixed blade, but localities can have their own rules, and some of them treat fixed blade knives, concealed or carried open, harshly. At least with a folding knife it is easy to say it is just in case anything goes wrong on the bike that might require some cutting, wire stripping, etc.

Only carry a folding knife. For me, no need for more.

I always have a knife on me, 95% of the time its a folder(my usual carry is 1 of 2 benchmades, a mini griptillian or mini barrage), if I am carrying a fixed blade its because I am out hunting/hiking/fishing. In my area its not uncommon to see guys carrying fixed blades openly, but I would check with your state/local laws before doing so, as previously mentioned it my be considered a "concealed weapon" and require a concealed weapons permit.

Crkt KISS very thin very light folder. Puma White Hunter fixed blade. I have gotten some strange looks from cops here in Texas but have never been hassled.

I carry a folder - SOG Pentagon Elite. Very quick access from the pocket and very quick/easy to open and present if needed. Open carry kinda brands you as an attention getter, especially in an urban area. I'm kind of a fly under the radar, 5 over kind of guy. Everything is concealed.
