I've been twice, both times with large groups. Would love to do it solo one time for the adventure of it all and freedom you don't have when doing the group thing. I think I would go to Buffalo Chip but gotta get your tent in a spot with shade or you'll be miserable. Have fun!!
We went with a group last year, just the ol' lady and I going this year. Looking forward to just the 2 of us going. We can go and do what we want without feeling obligated to go with the group.
Going solo from Arizona and will be there 7th to 10th, camping up and back with a room in Rapid City 8th and 9th. Meeting an old friend there from Illinois and a couple others... I always have a better time on the solo or one other rides myself....
with the wife and I for the last 3 years, we've had friends say yeah, I'm going, count me in, then a month, a week, a few days before they pull out. and we were alone.
So now we make our plans, if they wanna go they can make their plans, and we can met up when there.
