I have a stripped exhaust stud in rear cylinder and since its stripped I can't double nut abd turn loose. Any other techniques to get that stud out? Appreciate any help. Thanks
Would like to see the tool that sears offers by the link provided to ya, but that link is dead to this computer.
I'd saturate it with PB Blaster and let it soak into it overnight or more prior to removal. It works real good.
Sometimes heat is necessary, but I'm not sure about these motors.
PB blaster is a good start. I usually hit it with a good blast once an hour, two or three times. I then let it sit overnight. At that point an extractor set should get it.
Alternatively, if the whole stud is still there and not snapped you have another option. If you know a welder, you can have them weld a nut on the end of it to use to turn it out normally. I'd still use the PB blaster though.
This may or may not work with JB weld. Try it at your own risk.
Thank you very much. Ill have to check my local sears to see if they have in stock. Northern tool has this one.
Fits 1/4in. to 1/2in. (6 to 12mm) Studs.
Are exhaust studs within this size? Just in case sears is out of stock. Thanks again.
