I bought the Advance Auto Parts battery which is the AutoCraft or Magna Power Brand. Made by East Penn Manufacturing. Exact same battery as HD according to EPM Technical Service office. It has top post mounting capabilities. Of course label is different as it says Auto Craft instead of DEKA or HD but only paid $65 plus tax after using the TRT41 promo code online. Picked it up in the store. Half price of what the HD battery cost ($130) if you use the code.
Since Dekka/East Penn makes Harley's batteries and they have a distribution warehouse 2 miles from me, that's what I buy. Half the price the dealer charges...
Pretty much half of those choices are all the same battery. HD, Deka, Big Crank, Magna Power are all the same so I'm going to assume a few others are all made by East Penn also.
My Big Crank from battery mart came in a Magna Power box...
We generally use Yuasa for our backup systems offshore. I guess thats what I'll get when the time comes as in my work experience these batteries are good. Not married to the brand, just know it.
I was under the impression that DEKA East Penn, Big Crank & Harley OEM are all the same battery made by DEKA East Penn. Am I mistaken?
I just replaced mine with a one from Batteries Plus because Battery Mart was back ordered and I didn’t want to wait. It cost $35.00 more than Battery Mart but has a two year warranty compared to Battery Mart’s one year. I believe Harley’s warranty is 90 days.
Harley $175.00 plus sales tax & 90 day warranty
Battery Mart $100.00 & no shipping or sales tax & 1 year warranty
Batteries Plus $135.00 plus sales tax & 2 year warranty
