I been riding with a half helmet with a visor for years. And today for the first time I tried riding sans helmet. And guess what....buffing almost all gone.
But I did feel naked and exposed.
I never wanted a Harley helmet but my wife got one on a trade in program, so I got one too on the same program. Anyway, my old one was round like a basketball and the wind was always blowing my head around.
The new helmet has more lines and designs and it wasn't until I was almost home, that I realized we were in a cross wind. I found out by some flags waving in the wind. But my head was perfectly still the whole time.
My wife said we should have gotten them first. I agreed.
Oh...it's a 3/4 with a face shield.

i bought a new 3/4 helmet at dealer yesterday with flip down sun visor and full shield. Kinda looks like a fighter pilot helmet. Im very impressed with it and i can't feel any wind resistance at all hardly. One reason i rode without a helmet for 10 years but i can live with this one.

It's exactly what I have too! I really like the sunshade because my old helmet had a tinted shield, which made it difficult to see at night. Now, I just flip it up when it gets dark.
But you see what I mean about the wind not blowing your head around. It has to be in the design.

yea no doubt. good wind yesterday and i could feel the bike move some but never my head. Only thing i don't like is not being able to hear with ears covered. I like to hear the pipes and now its just a hum i hear going down the road
You're right, the sound is muffled some but not enough...the wind drives me nuts. I can't hear anything over it, so I wear ear plugs. At least I can hear the traffic and my pipes with them.
