I found mine loose a couple times. A dab of blue and no more problems. I do keep an old peg in the tool kit just in case someone else needs it.
I did have one of the tips from my exhaust fall off one time. Never went back to find it though. 1am country rode and very foggy no way in hell was I gonna find it that night or ever.
We all learn the hard way most of the time. Once lost a shifter peg twice in a couple of days finally got out the Loctite and never lost anything since.
Dang...never had that happen....but like ditto...I will check that from now on as part of the routine.....Glad things worked out, my luck I wouldn't have found it...

I had a Sportster 883 I bought new in '01 and that thing about vibrated to pieces. I've never had that issue on any of the other bikes I've owned. Which is ironic since one of them is my Deuce.
But I guess having nearly the whole bike apart at some point or other and putting it back together myself means I know things are properly tightened.
