The bikes will sell well, but Harley missed the boat in a couple of ways versus the competition. First, they should have ABS as a standard feature, but it isn't even offered as an option. Secondly, the fuel mileage is awful. The MOCO website lists it as 41 mpg for both the 500 and the 750. Honda has the the NC700x at 64 mpg.

It's not for me but I did have fun riding it and I think there will be many who will enjoy these motorcycles. Just my 2 cents.
Shift lever to boot orientation is loosen one bolt, pull lever off and rotate up 1-2 splines, retighten bolt.

Isn't this the first thing anyone does when they get their bike?

Sorry to hijack.

No auto company in the history of ever has just put out one model and been able to survive for a 100 years without improving or expanding its customer base. I'd probably be a bit irrate if they discontinued everything else to produce the street but they're not so I don't care what they put out on the side.

Adapt or die. There is a very big surge on bike ownership now and name mentality is really at a premium. Making a solid entry level bike for not only the inexperienced newbie but those that just want to take true ownership of the name is a VERY smart move for Harley. They are simplistic bikes that introduce a whole new audience to the upgrade ability within the line as well as present the quality, feel, and sound that they can step up to when they can afford it within the line. If a first time buyer of a brand love the bike and the experience, they almost always set up with that brand and Harley is smart to make these offerings at this time. If they can siphon off some of the $$$'s from the other companies to keep HD strong for my next new bike, I am ALL for it!! Doesn't damage the brand in any way for me. There are still plenty of the bikes I love still in the line up that get better and better.

Why exactly all the hate for water cooled engines anyway?
