yup, take a picture of the switch with the wires off of it and take it to the store (the picture) they should be able to match it with pictures in the book. ( not with the computer)they may have to order it but that only takes a day or two. when you take the picture of the switch, leave the switch on the bike. don't remove it until you are ready to change it. when you change the switch you have to be really fast with the new switch when you take the old one out be ready with the new one. if a little fluid leaks out don't get too excited about it. if your fast enough you won't have to bleed. check the brakes before going on the street and add fluid to the resivour if needed.i said auto zone but now that i think about it, it may have been advance auto parts. one last thing, the moco doesn't make break light switches. they buy them just like everybody else.

My 04 FXDX had the rear brake switch go bad, dealer wouldn't work on the bike for a week (warranty), so I scheduled an appointment, and unhooked the rear switch and used the front brake to activate the brake light
Under 20,000 miles in it.

Go with a Drag Specialities switch if ever needed again..better made and only 9 bucks....cross ref also @ auto zone for less.Theres not much that can go wrong with the switch. Its usually just low pressure or air in line.

Well, I just checked my rear brakes and the dang rear switch is out AGAIN! [:@]

I called the dealer service dept and the manager said he'll give the mo-co folks a call and see if they have any ideas as to why my bike is eating switches about every 1,500 miles...[&:]
