Still suffering separation anxiety from trading my "77 shovelhead for a new Heritage. Definitely the way you want to go, they do need to be "hands on" with the upkeep but they are not very complicated in my opinion

Shovelhead, period. They are simply the best sounding Harley engine of them all and by the time you have let it sit at idle for 5 minutes there will be a whole big sack of potatoes sitting next to your bike.

I miss my shovel head...people looked back from miles ahead....my wife would open garage door from a block away as that sound was truly 1 of a kind
Now with my Twin Cam i have spent countless hours reading ..researching on how to get that sound again on my EG

Oh, and I LOVE the way the Shovelhead sounds when you do the 2 into 1 pipes with a long expanding radius tail pipe that has a side cut. That roar is undeniably awesome. Thanks dude. You just got my wheels turning BIG TIME, lol!!

It's a shame there are ignorant people out there allowed to spew this mistruth....just because your bike is broke down, doesn't mean you can generalize it. My twinkie (06 FXDBI) had more downtime than my Shovel. See plenty of buds with new bikes with issues, hell.see plenty here on these boards.
