Default Air filter o-rings

I was just cleaning the air filter on my 2012 FLHTK. I noticed the three o-rings that are on the bolts that go between the air filter and air filter back box were kind of disfigured and was thinking of replacing them. Has anyone just gone out and bought a regular old o-ring from the store, is there anything special about it. Is there alot of heat in this area ? Can I replace them with an generic o-ring with an inside diameter of 1/4 inch.
Thanks in advance for the help Jonnierock

Johnnie, this is probably what you need albeit way too many. Lot of 10 with 25 per lot = 250 o rings. You'd be the "go to" guy for o rings for sure.

When I took my 2010 RKC air cleaner element apart for the first time at 20k miles I noticed something that looked like O-rings but when I checked it out they were actually round pieces of the gasket that had been cut loose by the way the thing bolts together. I'm not sure if we are talking about the same thing but in my case I tried to by a new gasket at the dealer (after cleaning the filter per the shop manual) but the dealer doesn't stock the gasket alone. They sell the whole element and it includes a new gasket.

Maybe there's something different about your bike that really does use O-rings. I'm just sharing my experience.

Dale,
After reading your reply, I went and took another look, turns out your were correct, after looking at it again i see that is was gasket material. It's seems like they cut the gasket out bigger than the 1/4 hole used to put the bolts though, so when I removed the the air filter the 3 pieces of gasket material came with it, and it looked like o-rings.
Thanks for the help Jonnierock
