One of our highlights on our vacation last week, was stopping at the HD Museum on Canal St in Milwaukee. The first bike displayed was the new Road Glide. Here's a picture link of just a fraction of what you can see.
The most interesting thing to me was all the bikes that were produced under military contract, including one for the Iraqi war, as shown in the attached picture.
Rode up there in June. Hit the National Motorcycle Museum in Iowa on the way home and found it to be every bit as impressive. Loved that trip alot! Just returned from Sturgis and still reminiscing about that one!

Did you get to the museum at Sturgis? Here's my pics from last year. As a British bike fan, I really enjoyed the bikes there.
We went out there last year and visited the museum. My son lived in Libertyville, just north of Chicago, and while we were there visiting, well, you can't be that close and not go.. Great experience, full of history, and some amazing bikes.

Standing there at that wall taking it all in was pretty awesome though.
Ah, daughters isn't a bad thing at all! My 19 year old daughter is already considering a Sporty.. She wants to ride, and it has to be a Harley. (her words, not mine!)

Yeah, my youngest just got back from her first Sturgis. Her fiance, Matt, traded his Sporty for an '06 Street Glide, to help her with her bad "sway back" that she inherited from me. Even with that, they hauled it out there with his pickup.
We cut through northern PA from Conneaut, Ohio, to Niagara falls, just last week!
Very cool, thanks for posting those. Interesting factoid, the opposed twin in image 29 and 84 were designed because US Harley engines had a hard time with the sand and heat of the N Africa campaigns during WW2. Uncle Sam asked HD to remake the German BMW boxer twin with shaft drive that were able to handle the sand and heat a lot better. Harley did and put them in the HDs. Uncle Sam then switched to Jeeps. :/
