Default Stockpipessuck.com REALLY SUCK

Guess what!!! I GOT MY $75.00 CHECK FROM STOCKPIPESSUCK.COM TODAY, I had given up on getting paid, but got a check dated 9-29-2014 in the mail today, no explanation for the long delay or a thank you for the mufflers in the envelope, so only thing I can say took a lot longer than the 30 days it says on their web site but they did pay!!

I sent my new mufflers to them back on May 7th, 2014,have UPS confirmation of delivery, they were taken off at dealer before delivery of bike . Website says should get check in 30 days, as of today August 19th 2014 I still haven't been paid or gotten the email saying not usable asking for 25.00 to ship back. I sent them emails about this and haven't heard a word from them

I'd be curious to how many they say aren't usable and people chose not to pay for return shipping they actually use.

In the 1970s the dumpsters behind Harley dealers were full of these stock exhaust components as most folks went straight to drag pipes. So I'm trying to figure out stockpipessuck's business model.

Maybe they think the EPA is going to drop the hammer on us with some sort of blanket law saying nothing but stock pipes. But even the most draconian laws, like the one California passed back in 2010 only says all motorcycles built after 2013 must have, not stock pipes per se, but EPA stamped pipes. And that three year time frame before enacting the law gave everyone the chance to get ready. Especially the aftermarket exhaust manufacturers.

Do you think someone like Vance and Hines would willingly give up the entire California market? And then also lose whatever States follow suit? No way. They are using the three years to develop aftermarket pipes that will carry the EPA stamp. And they will be better pipes than what the MoCo is using so people are still going to switch them out.

So the idea, "Someday soon everyone is going to need stock pipes, and we're going to make a fortune selling these," isn't going to happen. There will also be tons of "fake" EPA stamped pipes and you can't pass a law to make cops smarter than they are now, lol.

So that can't be it.

I think they are shipping them overseas by the container load and selling them for pennies on the dollar to individual bike builders and shops in Asia and elsewhere. It's a lot cheaper (and easier) to gut a stock set of pipes in your hand than order aftermarket ones from 5000 miles away.

And then how many people actually get the $75 they offer?

The, "Send us $25 for return of not like new pipes," is the rub here. Who's going to bother? And if you can't find a blem on a brand new set of Harley exhaust pipes you ain't looking hard enough.

If your pipes don't suck than they must blow.

Man I hate that haven't come through for you. I thought for sure they would have by now. They paid me for 2 sets in a couple of months, but since they have not come through for you I will be sure not recommend them in the future. It especially sucks since you're out the cost of shipping.

They sell them to other companies who modify them and resell them. Some people like the look of the stock pipe, but hate the sound.

That makes sense, thanks.

Agreed. There are more benefits to aftermarket pipes than just the sound volume. Sound quality, weight reduction and appearance play a big role too.
