Getting forum members to guess which will be the most comfortable for you dad is gonna be hard.

^^^ Yeah that!!

Previous bike to the one I now own was a Dyna. Extensively test road the Switchback prior to purchasing the bike I now own. For me the Softail Deluxe is the most comfortable bike Harley makes. Fits me just right. The ride and handling simply head and shoulders above the Dynas I've owned.
Personally after test riding the Switchback was wondering how they're selling any of them.

I'd encourage your father to test ride lots of bikes. And yes, hand controls, foot controls and seats can all be changed and customized to the rider.

An Electra Glide!

Or actually, a Trike! With air ride, memory foam seat with back massager, cup holder and a fridge in the back! And a beer bottle opener somewhere.

I think the Heritage needs more mentioning. Especially with a Mustang saddle with a backrest.

Had our Heritage since new in 07 and just turned over 50K.. great ride IMO or I would have traded her.

Take him to a dealership and test ride some bikes. Hands on is the best way.

The Dyna's have most rear suspension travel. Softails have the least, especially the breakout.

I agree that you just need to take him to a dealership and test ride the heck out of all the bikes he thinks he will like. Every person is different.

I agree with this. I had a 2010 Heritage and change out the handlebars, risers, seat and had it lowered one inch and it became a perfect fit.
