Default ape hanger cable kits for a 94 softail! help

Ok i ordered 16 inch apes for a 94 springer and no one makes a cable kit that old a softail ..... i can only find 00 and newer threw burly i may have seen one for 96 and newer threw LA choppers, what is the main difference between 94 cables and 96+ and whats my best option upgrading to 1996 style control boxes or ordering a 1996 cable hit and just ordering a different throttle cable ?

If you know what your looking for you can build your own throttle cables

For what it's worth I've never bought a "kit" for any of my installs, although if put together right I can see where it might simplify the process. I usually take a small diameter rubber hose, run it from the bar controls to where it needs to go (brake, throttle/idle, clutch, etc.), measure the length and then buy the appropriate cable. Sometimes it helps to have an extra hand hold the rubber hose at the bar side while you route it the way the real cable would go to it's destination.

A good starting point is to measure the height/width differences from the original bars and the new bars. Add the extra height and width to the original cable lengths and you'll come pretty darn close to whatcha need.

Having the same problem for my fatboy. Trying to put 14" hangers on it and having trouble finding what size to go with. Curious to know if you figured out the problem and what did you do to do that?

1-Disconnect your stock cables at the perches/switch housings.
2-Lay a towel on your tank and remove the stock bars and lay them across the tank on the towel.
3-Install the new bars on the risers.
4-Hold the old cables in their stock routing up and measure from the end of them how much longer they need to be to work for the new bars (they will be referred to as a +8" or whatever length you come up with).
5-Order the cables in the length you need
6-Order a wire extension kit in whatever length you need (longer is better than shorter as they can be cut down)
7-Reinstall your stock bars and ride the bike until your parts arrive and you can do the install.
