Need the two in-tank fuel hoses for my FLHTCUI and when I sent the tank to rad shop for reline they cut the fitted ones off. Question is can I get away with buying good quality generic hoses and just use them or are the stock fitted hoses necessary??
If you already have the clamps and crimper tool that would work.
I would not use regular hose clamps inside the tank, but that's just me. The stock lines are shrink fitted to barbed fittings.
Also be aware if you make the hoses too long they will rub on the inside of the tank tunnel eventually pin-holing and causing the bike to run erratic. Do't ask me how I know.
Sometimes its just better to pay the OEM price than to embark on a science project.
The problem is getting the right hoses in a timely manner, may have to go with the R10 hose then order the hoses from Harley. Either way, thank you guys for your input. Always is a plus...
The R-10 hose is rather thick and should have much less of a chance of developing a hole than the factory hose.
Fuel injection style clamps should be fine and are a step-up from worm clamps.
