Default wrecked 01 fatboy value

In a nut shell my uncle wrecked his bike last fall. My grandma now has possession of the bike and is wanting to get rid of it. I inspected the neck of the frame for cracks in the powder coat I see no visual cracking. The forks appear to be straight and the big has been sitting in the same spot for a year, I see no fork oil on the ground or seeping frome the seals. It has 11k miles on it. I think it will need all new tin, paint, bars, master cylinder switches, fork tin, master cylinder. It has solid wheels and do not expect them to be bent however not to my liking so plan on changing any how. This is my grandma and I don't want to screw her so with that being said what would be a fair price without over paying.

couple of thousand maybe, that bike is going to need alot of money dumped into it. you can buy wrecks all day long from yards on the internet for good deals. don't forget this bike may have hidden problems as well.

She threw out that someone had offered her 3k. Is that to much I think the bikes worth about 7 or 8. I don't see 4k worth of work that it would need to be road ready. Also I'm a mechanic by trade so I would be doing all the work myself

FWIW, $3K is about $2K more than I would pay for something like that. but that's just me.

That looks like it took multiple hits from a roll.

At the end of the day, a brand new Harley will be cheaper than fixing that up.

When you say it's gonna be a lot of money what is a lot of money? I think about 1500 into used parts could get it done minus a paint job...then again I've never redone a bike which is why I'm asking for advice

Have a buddy that wrecked a 04' Ultra. It does have repairable frame damage and front end is toast, everything else is good. Insurance totaled it and he bought it back for 3K. 2K would be the max IMO ........

Yea, around $2k is the number on that bike. But once it's done you will have what its worth in it. If your just going to bring it back to stock or near stock why not just go out and buy a good low mile garage queen and save yourself the hassle. Your in the snow belt, so plenty of them out there. That bike would be prime for someone wanting to do a custom project where those damaged parts would likely be replaced anyway.
