I have a 2000 ultra classic twinkie.
At idle mine shakes like a paint shaker.
It's so bad it blurs my vision at a stop light.
Hurts my teeth too.
Anything i can do to help tone down the horrible shaking ?
Harley says its normal. My evo ? I never notice it.
So why the twinkie shaking so bad ?
Dealer says it's fine. I think not.
The front lower nut fell off my friend's RoadKing motor mount. Made the engine rock. Sounds like age is moving you to the Softail line. Move slow however. Trikes come after that. The only thing after Trikes is down.
Thanks,guys..
For now.. I'll just ride the tour glide.
Much better bike. No horrible shaking.
And no massive nuclear heat like the twinkie.
I'm going to check that top mount. And also might look
Into some type of engine stabilizers.
Got to be a way to fix the design flaw of this twinkie.
Got to be .
I've had a love/hate relationship with this bike. For 154.ooo miles.
Other than the floorboards putting my feet to sleep . The horrible heat. And the terrible shaking at idle.
She's been a good bike. Lotta good rides and memories.
....
One of the reasons, i went out and bought the 93 tour glide.
No issues there.
Love the old evo.
Now i have something to ride. Till we can sort out the Twinkie.

check the lower motor mount and the stablizers on the lower front of the engine. Had one of my bolts come out once plus the lower mount was toast...60000 miles...
My buddies 07 Ultra does same. While at stop lights with him I notice his handlebars are bouncing around a lot too. Once he takes off everything smoothes out. Doesn't seem to bother him.
