Default EBC Brake question

changed OEM brakes ( I think they are Brembo) at 8K miles with EBC brakes. I noticed the first 50 miles or so they would not grab well. They kinda slid through the rotors. After 50 miles or so they grab great. Thought it odd. Changed them again at 15,140 miles with EBC. same feeling. Just not grabby for a few miles. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this normal for EBC? Are Brembo brakes that much better?
Thank you
T

These things can be different between different brands. It is routine that a change to aftermarket will give improved braking performance, partly because some brands use softer materials, which wear more quickly. What you have experienced is not unusual. I am about to fit a full set of EBC rotors with pads, although it will be a while before I'm back on the road to compare notes. I won't be worried if mine do the same as yours.

I replaced my front pads with EBC. Just like you said, it took a few miles for them to break in so I just compensated for it. Once they were bedded in, they worked way better than the stock pads. Very happy with my choice.

They need to bead in good... I like to scuff mine up with a 30 grit sand paper (couple passes) and then brush them with a stiff brush to get anything off...
All I have used is EBC double sintered since the first pad change on my 07...They are the best IMHO.

You do know you have to break-in new brake pads, yes? Do the stop-start cycles as recommended by manufacturer or google "brake break-in". You will screw up brake pads for life if you don't break them in properly. I use EBC "Red Stuff" or "Blue Stuff" ceramic pads on my car and they are very good pads.
