Default Bike asking form PIN - won't start

FOR pin. Sorry

I have not ridden my bike in months. 2011 Softail Deluxe with alarm. I am the 2nd owner and have had it for 3 years or so.

I have 2 fobs and just having a fob with you generally lets you start it. No go. I replaced both batteries and they still dont let it start.

It asks for a PIN which I never set and have no idea of the previous owner did or not.

Suggestions? Why is it not sensing that I have the fob close by? Thanks.

Did you have your bike on a battery tender? Maybe the fob doesn't work with a weak bike battery.

Yes,it is on a tender. When I try to mess with the PIN, the alarm goes off loud and clear so I assume the battery is fine.

There's a stock pin#, not sure what it is as I don't have this. But it's the same from the factory on every bike 1111 or 1234. Maybe the PO wrote it in the owner's manual.

Under the seat is a little 1" black square box that has wiring going into it. It is part of the security system and if a wire gets pulled out it will do exactly what your describing, it happened to me. I just pushed the wire back in and taped it back in place. Not sure what this box is called or costs.
