hard starting-2010 103 UltraClassic
Old thread but new experience for me. 2010 Ultra with 103 kit(pistons and jugs)Jackpot 2-1-2 stainless(Fuel Moto),Fatshotz,and billet style air cleaner (Fuel Moto). Since I had installed a Power Commander V and map (FuelMoto) the bike had hard starts. They were kind of random, but enough to be anoying with the occasional back fire through the throttle body or pipes. After searching here, I tried the vapor lock theory-cracking the cap for a moment before starting, plugs, fuel treatment, fuels. It seemed to happen more often when the bike was left for a while parked and in the sun. Saw a thread here that said to not wait for the prime after pushing the run switch. Just start it. I called Fuel Moto (yes, I am a fan) and they said 'Power Commander V? Just start it, don't wait.' I post this- it works. With the number of starts I've made since I began this procedure, not one hard start. Just have to retrain myself to not wait-just start it.
