Default Remove ABS system 2012 FLHTC

I converted my bike to a trike. That ended the ABS system. The sensors are off on the front and rear. I get the yellow trouble light now, but the bike brakes just fine.

Next I want to remove all the ABS hardware. Replace it with regular brake lines.

I'm wondering if the computer is going to freak out and cause me trouble?

Anyone have any experience with this sort of project? Thanks for the help.

Since you're getting the yellow trouble light, the computer is already starting to freak out. I'd talk to a Shop Manager or Senior Technician and see if there's a download that will erase just the ABS programming from the ECU.

I'm not surprised! You're asking more than I suspect you realise. The way electronics are integrated into modern vehicles doesn't make removing features easy, so disabling ABS isn't as easy as undoing a few nuts and bolts. It is probably easier to add it to your current rear brakes, are they on each wheel or central?

I don't have the sensors anymore. I had the front wheel set up for non abs and just remove the rear. Brakes work fine, the abs simply stops and lets the brakes work as non abs brakes. I do have the little warning light on the dash but I don't really notice anymore. I might just try disconnecting things one at a time and see what happens. I would just like to get rid of stuff that isn't needed. Keep things tidy.
