Default Handlebar questions

I've got a 2016 ultra limited, I'm wanting to put 12 inch apes on it, I'm having trouble finding bars compatible with heated grips, does that really matter? Also, with 12 's I've been told the stock cables will work and I've been told they wont, can someone help me in this matter. Thanks

I just put 12" Factory 47 Assault bars on my bike. They are wider then most bars on the market at 39" and the factory brake and clutch lines worked, but required some re-routing to make them reach. I used the NAMZ plug and play harnesses (replaces the factory control wiring from the switches to the plug in behind the fairing.) No need to extend or do anything with the TBW sensor wiring, plenty long enough and no need to de-pin the 2016 bikes since they run the smaller plug. As for heated grips, I can't comment on that as I don't use them.

I've never fitted apes, but having owned Harleys for over 40 years I can assure you that some times what other people say works out fine, but other times it doesn't! It is unpredictable and I had an example only recently, when working on my own bike. Different brands of bars can be different shapes and the only source of info you should take as gospel is from the maker. If for example they tell you to use extended cables and wiring, then plan to do just that. We have plenty of DIY bar changers in here with problems of their own making!

Same here with WO577 12.5" bars, I used the HD wire extensions. Heated grips aren't an issue (I have them on my Ultra with WO578's) except it makes the wire pull through the bars a little more challenging.

I would suggest you get 1.25" or 1.5" bars (yeah, I know, duh but just making sure) and get a set of Arlen Ness bushings.

You'll have to loosen the bango's on the master cyclinders just enough to point them downward and re-tighten along with the re-rounte on the cables as mentioned above.

I put 14" bars on my wide glide and had to get new cables and wires.

Plan accordingly.

Where can I find Extended Cables for an 94 with an S&Se. I currently have Burly Brand installed but Burly no longer makes them for bikes older than 10-15 years back
I have these installed currently.
Measured by string:
one has cable length of 52" in a housing length of 48"
other has cable length of 53" in a housing lenght of 49"

I just put 10" Monkey bars on my 17 RGS. Had plenty of wiring and the Heated grips went on without issue.

Were you able to find anything that worked? I'm looking at doing the same thing to my 16 Limited.
