im about to start my 10,000 mile maintenance on my 2008 sporty. i have all my parts and my service manual ready to go but i just need to get my torque wrench. what wrench or wrench set would you recommend? i'm changing my oil tank out as well so i know i'll need one to get in some right spots and one to adjust the spokes. any input would be greatly appreciated

Craftsman. Relatively inexpensive and lifetime warranty. Good enough for any shade tree mechanic.

The Craftsman wrenches are fine for the average home mechanic work. Get both a 3/8" drive inch/pound and 1/2" foot/pound model.

I believe specific torque wrenches are available for spokes.

1/4" drive in-lbs
3/8" or 1/2" drive ft-lbs

Buy the best quality tools you can afford. You will be glad you did, especially if you intend on performing the routine maintenance and tackling other projects.

I've got a craftsman inch pound wrench that I've owned for 10+ years. Recently it failed, sears told me that they don't warranty torque wrenches.

i ended up getting the craftsmen. i ready to torque my screws just need some help reading the torque requirements. i'm replacing my oil tank and the three fastening screws on top need to be at "36-60 in-lbs (4.1-6.8 Nm)". does that mean i pick a number in between 36-60 or what?

Correct, they rook away the lifetime warranty on them in the late 80's.

CDI are great torque wrenches & are reasonably priced.

Yep. I usually split the difference. 36-60 in-lbs, i'd be happy with 48in-lbs.

Im in need of a torque wrench as well. I see Harley is mostly in need a inch pounds and if it is foot pounds it very low.

Whats a decent affordable 3/8 inch pound wrench? I see Sears has the 3/8" 25-250 inch torque wrench on sale for $39.99.
