Default Sylvania ZEVO Super Bright LED 1157 bulbs do not fit

Trying to change turn signal bulbs from incandescent 1157 to Sylvania ZEVO Super Bright LED 1157 bulbs.

Got a problem.

Sylvania ZEVO LED bulbs do not fit into turn signal sockets on my 2014 SGS.

ETA: The problem is the Sylvania LED bulbs will not rotate to lock once they are fully inserted in the socket.

Measured diameters, key diameters etc and cannot find a significant difference. Largest difference is diameter of upper keying pin and that's less than 1mm.

Tried relieving plastic shoulders on LED bulb and that makes no difference.

Tried reducing diameter of metal shoulder of bulb and still no change,

Given enough insertion force that am afraid of breaking bulb socket and still no joy.

Anyone have an idea why Sylvania 1157 LEDs don't fit? I'm using them on other vehicles and never had a problem.

UPDATE: Finally got the Sylvania ZEVO LED 1157 bulb to seat and lock after filing the white molded "plastic" ears on the bulb.

Now the LED bulb won't stay lit when you take your fingers off the bulb in the socket.

This is stupidly frustrating.

Try again tomorrow with better light to figure out where the bulb is losing contact.

An unfortunate problem at present with LED aftermarket replacement bulbs is that many of them are not fit for purpose. A sad fact but true. I have several of different sizes and shapes in my 'black museum'. Chuck 'em and find another brand.

I contacted Sylvania and this was their response...it sucks, but at least now I know.

One of our engineers has responded with some very helpful information. Harley Davidson's are known for "shaking incandescent lamps to death" due to the high vibration environment the motorcycle creates. In effort to reduce the vibration intensity, Harley's commonly use a socket with an extended barrel length, longer than normal. The glass bulb of the incandescent lamp is accommodating of the extended length, but our LED frame is not and will often bottom out on the socket barrel before the lamp pins can rotate into locking position

I ran into this issue with some LED bulbs made by a local company called Litezupp. The shoulder on the machined housing contacted the reflector before the pins could seat. Jim remachined the housings to fit and keep them snug and they work great now. I had not seen this issue elsewhere until now and will keep an eye out for others that do not fit properly. If you have not heard of Litezupp take a look, they are the best LED replacement bulbs I have come across. They are brighter than any of the others I have used and the machined aluminum housings are really nice.

Ronin and dfwhockey, Thank both of you for following up. I will explore Litezupp.

Default Tried this weekend

I tried this weekend. Had the same issue - the outside plastic on the bulb impacts the side of the bullet because the bullet shape is confining.. the 1157 bulbs accomodate the shape.

I had some cheaper eBay/Amazon bulbs laying around....I figured they were too long to work but the fit the front of my '14 street glide but they triggered the fast flash an gave me a B code.

So, the solution was to grind off some of the excess barrel ( socket) length until it was short enough to seat and twist the pins into place .???
