Question whistle sound from engine

Hi,

I´ve been recently hearing a whistle sound that seems to be coming from de engine. I only hear it when i release the accelerator. I´ve heard it in different gears. Haven´t analyzed range of speeds but, i´ve heard it above 15 mph no specific rev.

Any suggestions what the sound might be?

Could it be Primary or transmission related? Both feel normal.

Checked belt, and its both clean and tight to specs.

I did a change of oil and filter for Engine, primary and transmission. Using Mobile V-twin for past 3 or changes.

Milage:15,000
Engine: 96"
FXDC 2013

Bought new with 0 miles and never let anyone drive her.

Im no mecanic but I´m up to doing the work myself if I can. Usually do everything myself on the bike and by the book. Using apropriate tools, and manual at hand to get factory tork and specs.

Aditionally...I noticed my shifter may be leaking oil from my transmission. Will hopefully make time to take of the primary to change shifter seals in a couple of days.

hard to say without hearing it, but, a whistle is indictive of a vacuum leak.

What does this mean? What can I look for to diagnose?

Thanks

Check for intake and exhaust leaks.

once again, hard to say without being there.
there is one place i forgot to mention as a member on the xlforum had issue with, and that was a head gasket leak. he said his chirped like a bird. so look for seepage and check all vac hoses and connections. mr. nevil already covered the others.

Ok, I know its hard and kind of impossible to tell what that sound might be but just wanted to add. I tried revving my bike in neutral and letting go. I cant replicate the whistle sound. It seems that its not coming from the engine itself or at least not in neutral.

I can only get the whistle sound while driving the bike and this only happens when i release the accelerator with out pressing the clutch.

Dont know if clutch or something in the primary or might cause this due to wear. I hear it mostly towards the primary side.
