Default Torque wrenches

For all those home mechanics, what torque wrenches would you recommend for motorcycle maintenance and some enhancements like compensator/clutch upgrades, wheel/brake work.

I use three. I use an inch pound, a foot pound that goes up to 100 and then a big foot pound that goes up to 200. Get a good brand like Craftsman or Snap On. Some of the cheap Chinese no name brands can be kinda iffy as to accuracy. Most cover fasteners are inch pound. Most common bolts are foot pound, and rear axle and compensator and sprocket bolts are higher foot pound (hence the one that goes up to 200).

I have the same thing. 1/4" for the in/lb, 3/8" for the 20-100 ft/lb, and 1/2" drive for the 80-200 ft/lb torque wrench. The Craftsman clicker line is good quality for occasional use, and very reasonable price-wise.

actually, harbor freight units are pretty fair as things go. most clickers sweet spot is the 40>90% range. for case fasteners, use a beam unit. that said, a beam unit must be held a certain way. you can check accuracy at home with know test weights, and can be adjusted. the digital quartz units are very accurate and long term, clickers if used regularly needs calibration at least once a year. i have had them all and really can not say anything bad about any of them.

I have 3 as well! similar setup as dawg. But I need to replace one as it seems to be quite off.....going to look for a good 'set' this upcoming Xmas. Maybe find a deal on higher quality ones then I have now, hopefully as some kind of 'set'.
