you need to ask for the dial indicator readings and they should be on the service report. as the article said, uninformed persons will short hand it. after the report is in hand, a second independent check should be made.
look at the rotor for shinny spots or discoloration, these are high spots. sometimes rotors when made can develop hard spots that show up after some use and it is a defect not associated with what the article said, i had this problem a few times on various rotors.
whether or not they say it is acceptable, it should be replaced. you are right, in the wrong situation, braking is compromised. what you might do is ask them to write on the service ticket it is all and good and they will stand behind the evaluation if something happens, if not, demand replacement.
a good source of help is use the BBB. they will write a letter to them with your concern and they have a chance to reply, IT WILL BECOME PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE so any future events will not need a president as their actions are already known via the report. does not cost you anything and you will help the bro coming after you.
