THIS! I've been using this wax, and this wax only for 30 years. Used to only be able to get it mail order and from vendors at high end car shows. This isn't a compound you can correct paint with, but the depth of shine on a properly prepped surface is amazing. If you know how to run a machine buffer, it'll make you giggle. Great stuff. Very, very easy to use little goes a long way. One bottle will last you a lifetime if all you are doing is one bike. One bottle will last me 6+ years. Its not Turtle Wax once a year stuff on a daily rider. I'll wax my bikes maybe 2, 3 times a year, mostly because I just enjoy it.
I've been trying a whole bunch of different products.
I picked up a bottle of this guy here at the dealership and I was super impressed with how well it worked. You rub it on like wax, let it dry and then polish it off with a clean dry microfiber cloth.
No more wax for me and my customers, unless its a garage queen. Wax is a dust magnet, for the pollen filled state of FL, no thanks.
Sealants or coatings.
Seems to be a lot of confusion on quick detailers. QDs are for very mild clean up or a drying aid. Most QDs offer zero protection.
Another thing that gets muffled up is, "I waxed my bike and it looks great or it really shine". Wax, sealants or coatings can enhance the look some, some better than others. That is just how it is. Most if not all paint needs to be polished. Ive done 2 brand new RG in the last 5 weeks and both needed to be polished. Polishing alone made a huge difference on both bikes. The RG limited had a ton of meal flake in it and the polishing really amped up the clarity of the paint. The Billiard blue became extremely deep looking. Both ended up being extremely glossy and reflective. Both were coated with Polish angel Cosmic 2 and High Gloss.
As for Pledge, do you use it on truck/car? Would you use it on a new corvette? How many people use Pledge in the detailing world? Zero
