anyway..

you wouldnt lose that much on top end if you swapped pulleys..

if for example, youre tapping the limiter now in 6th at 115mph, youde be hitting the limiter at 110 instead, BUT, raise the limiter to 6k-6200 and youre back on par

if you swapped for a larger pulley, you would change the accelation ration and lose slightly on top.. BUT, that doesnt mean you wont reach it, youll just be revving higher at the same speed

thats the whole point of changing the pulley, by changing the pulley you get the motor higher in the rpm band where it makes more power quicker,

for example, instead of at 2200-2300 in 6th, at 65 youll be at 2400-2500 in 6th at 65mph and have quicker acceleration from 65 to 100

but seriously now.. 2up, full dresser 115?
Thank you Mr.GHOST for explaining this mod for me. I think this mod will give him the most bang for his buck. Also get to 65 quicker too!

If all you want is top end then the 255s are about the last cams you'd want. While they're pretty decent bottom end cams they run out of steam after 4500 rpm. The right cam for your current will help but it's not going to get you where you think you want to go. You need cubic inches, more gas in and more exhaust out. Reality is about 3500 doing you're own work starting with a good stage one setup already...need those too and you can add another 1200 to 1500. You need a big bore, head work, intake work and the right exhaust...dont forget a good dyno tune. Kirby at vee twin has a really nice deal going on with a big bore kit, he's on here as prodrag. Scott at hillside is another great builder that will work with your budget. Or you could just pull your baffles and tell everyone it'll do 118 two up into a headwind uphill...when you get called out just say you're still dialing in the tune.

You might want to look into this. Hopefully you’ll be riding solo when you meet your maker.
