Left Grip - STICKY!
I had degrading grips on a past bike, had a buddy who works in leather make me some leather grip covers. They were cheap, easy to install and looked great.
Something like this. Prevents replacing the grips completely.

At this point, it is this.........
1. Milslurpie suggested the Simple Green or Dawn Dish Soap. <-- I will likely try that 1st. If it degrades more then...
2. Failing #1 above, I will try that "magic juice" called WD40. <-- That sh*t right there does a HUGE list of cool things if u ain't nvr seen the list b4.
3. Failing #1 and #2 above...........then honestly, I am not sure. Maybe wrap something around it. Or the next time it goes in for service, ask them to replace it. Yeah, at my cost. Will tell them what happened if they want to pick up the cost. No worries.
It is cool Sparty, that u asked for a f/u of what I am going to do. For that is often what I wonder about when others get suggestions on issues they have.
Maybe once this all plays out, I can update everyone here.
Funny thing too..........above you said, (and rightly so) "...you're screwed..." above. The "new and improved" me, does not think so anymore. Even if they (HD) messed up. I nvr see myself as being screwed. If (if) they made the error, then that is on them. Not me. But that is another matter.

You would think in this day and age there would be a solution. A permanent and good solution.
Exactly right!!
I did not really think about that part. Considering I live in South Florida and I do not pretty much do the long rides anymore, I am not so concerned about the heated grips for myself. But you do make an excellent point.
