The horn on my 07 XL1200N Sportster "sucks".
The upgrades Harley horn (with an Bar & Shield icon) is suppose to be 3 decibels louder, but many reviews say it also sucks, but looks nicer LOL.
Anyone try this Napa Auto Parts Horn made by Fiamm:
Typical Harley accessory, make it look better but function just the same as stock...
I've added tons of those little pancake horns onto motorcycles over the years. I like the "low tone" ones. It makes the horn sound like the horn on an old Crown Victoria.
I got the Beast ( I think that's what its called) from Custom Dynamics. It is expensive, but it is louder than stock! Sounds like a deuce-and-a-half air horn! And it does get used!! I think pretty much any name branded air horn will be an improvement over stock. You will get a number of responses....check them all out! Good Luck
I installed a Fiamm Freeway Blaster (low note) in Reaper. It's rated at 130 dB, I can actually hear it when I hit the button while rolling down the road, and it fits under the stock cowbell no problem.
Follow up
The horn is too large to fit in the OEM position.
Further, the part number matched, but visually the product did not match the picture on NAPA's website.
(Also to me the horn looked like a car horn instead of a motorcycle horn)
I did not test the volume.
So as a DIY plug and play direct replacement.... this is a no go.
Was helping a buddy stow away a recently acquired parts pile at his shop and came upon a set of dual horns with mount and cover that bolts right up to the stock harley location. I indicated interest and and he gave them to me. Don't know who made them but they're every bit a loud as the dual horns on my Chevy pickup!
