Default To remove or not to remove (tank)?

I had to get my bike (2015 fat boy lo) transported to my place from out of town. While ratcheting along the forks, the driver cracked off the front WSS ABS speedo sensor. The company said they would "cover" it but when it got to my place, they just bought a replacement part and trusted me to do the repair myself. I felt bad for the driver, he was really upset about it. I told him I'd figure it out.

I put the bike up on the jack today, removed the front wheel and put on the new sensor. It was fairly straightforward until I tried plugging in the other end. It runs just behind the tank and there doesn't appear to be enough room to get access to the connector. I'd rather not remove the whole tank. Has anyone replaced this sensor before? Any tips would be appreciated.

Sorry, one more thing, the bike won't start. It just clicks once. I'm really really hoping this has to do with the sensor not being plugged in.

Thanks!

Tank is super easy to take off, 4 bolts, quick disconnect, couple plugs. Less than 10 minutes of work. As for the clicking, no, an ABS sensor will not stop your bike from starting. The battery is most likely dead. Bike most likely wasn't put in to transport mode prior to shipping and alarm went off the whole way causing the battery drain.

A clicking sound from the starter is usually a sign of a dead battery.

You’re right. I put it on the tender for the day and the bike fired up. It threw me off earlier because everything else powered up pretty good. I guess it needed a little extra juice.

And yes, I do have to remove the tank. It’s not a huge job but certainly a bit annoying.

thanks everyone
