Can't speak for the OP, but I did the swap for the longevity of the hydraulic tensioner verses the spring loaded ones. Another reason is for the precision of the forged plate verses the cast OE one, which can cause seal issues. And the better performing oil pump that came with it was a nice upgrade.
Well if you are running a 0.660 lift cam with heavy spring it might be worthwhile but I'd probably go to gears in that case.
