After dropping my gas cap on the ground a few time during fill ups I decided to give this a try. Works good . I got the magnets off of eBay they were a couple of $ for 25. The epoxy is JB Weld. I put a coating of JBW over the magnets just to make sure they don't scratch my bars.
A friend of mine gave me a bar mount cup holder a few years ago.I installed it but never drink while riding, or put bottles in it so it dawned on me, why not use it for holding the gas cap?. Works like a charm and you won't forget it or drop it when refueling.,,
