Welcome.... introduce yourself in the Welcome thread. Then do a search for lifts or jacks. There are a lot of threads on this subject and lots of good suggestions. And links.
Define "lift". Do you mean a rolling type floor jack or full blown lift table? There's a significant difference between the two and that affects what you can get for 300 bucks. 300 will buy a nice floor type jack...j&s is popular here but probably out of that price range for a new one, then you have harbor freight which is great if you're going to use it once in a while. Theres a bunch of brands in between those two. Lift tables??? 300 might buy you a rusted out harbor freight brand that has been stored outside and the pump is missing.
After paying all that money for a bike, don't cheap out on a lift. I'm a big fan of J&S Jacks. With today's economy and shortage of parts, you might have to wait a while to get one, but they are well worth it.
a good jack is fine BUT investing in a lift table is $$$$ well spent IMO. many options for around a thou that are decent chinese ones + if you got $$$$ theres an american made one as well. being heavy shipping costs so if you can pick it up you save $$$, as always it depends on your cash!! I got my NHPro 1200 with removable side plates to make it 4' wide, a jack etc about 10 yrs ago today its MORE, but a lifetime investment that can be used for other equipment with the extensions. working on my knees at 30 something was dooable but NOT anymore!!

I bought a slightly used table lift off a friend for $300. Yeah, its a Pittsburgh, but never outside and works great. Look around, you just might find a good used one. Either way, you really need both.
