Default Side cover posts broken Q

The guy that painted my bike broke one of the three posts for one of my side cover a couple years back, yesterday a second one broke. Has anyone repaired this problem with epoxy and if so how is it holding up? Thanx

I have repaired a couple from different bikes I've had . What I did , was found a bolt that has a rounded head on it , like an allen key type , make sure it fits snug when pushed into the rubber bushing , then drill a hole into the side panel , use some epoxy and screw the bolt in so that it's the same height as the original post , done .

If you have the original posts , you could use a small metal pin , drill a small hole on both sides , then epoxy it . 2 part epoxy , Gorilla Glue is what I use .

Just make sure you don't drill through the panel , I did that once and had to repaint ...

By the way , sweet looking bike .

Thanx. I do have both plastic posts, they are still in the holes on the bike. Both broke where it goes into the side cover. Maybe the epoxy will be stronger than the way it came from Hogworkz. I've always stood behind their stuff but I'm starting to wonder.
When I get off work I'll take a pick of the side cover and post it. Thanx for the help brother.

If money was the issue I'd just buy a Honda Shadow, but then I'd have to buy a full face helmet and some skirts to ride it. But thanx for your excellent input.

no doubt China has a so-called ‘fire sale’ locked and loaded - likely just tweeking it now - akin to a arty command, fire-for-effect’

The West is on it’s back, legs spread!
