Question Missing Cover?

I could have sworn that there was a cover on the water pump but I don't remember hearing anything fall off. 2014 FLHTK. Could other owners of this model confirm whether they have a cover over this exposed lower part (water pump and hoses)? Have I indeed lost a cover - or was it never there in the first place? - I think I'm losing my mind as I honestly can't remember for sure if there was ever a cover there or not...

Pics of my current situation below:

I don't see any hardware that would hold it on, it looks like it just snaps into place. Snap on, snap off!

Yep they just snap on but you have to be careful on getting the tabs in place or it won't stay on long.

Have you not discovered Ronnie's? Should be able to find any part your bike was supposed to have from the factory.

Depends on the motorcycle and manufacturer. I think the Harley's are all electrical. Most liquid cooled bikes (Honda/Suzuki) I have worked on have a water pump (gear driven) and thermostat like autos.

Thanks, was wondering since there seems to some issue with failure on the Ultras. Some anyway.

Failure involved the ones with a thermostat. They removed the thermostat and left the coolant recirculating with a temperature sensor turning the cooling fans on and off. I do not think electric pumps do well with a thermostat limiting the coolant flow.
