08 ultra classic intermittently shuts down while riding

08 ultra classic intermittently shuts down while riding
Good morning,
I am having an issue where while riding my Harley will just shut down completely, no power no electrics, but only for a second or two the goes right back to running. Happens two times then doesnt happen again until the next day. i was thinking that the kill switch may be bad or the ignition switch but i have no real idea. 2008 ultra classic with 22000 miles. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This happened on my '08 Heritage, it turned out to be a bad battery that I had just put in. Check that first.
ETA: When the HD dealer told me it was the battery I was highly skeptical, I would have bet money in the ignition switch.

On an 08 UC, all the power goes through the ignition switch. If you are losing everything, it is likely your issue. Check all the wires going from the battery to the switch including the maxi fuse. Battery cables, as recommended, also.

Check all the easy common things before you start throwing parts at it. Loose connections, grounds, plugs that have worked their way loose, make sure the battery is in good shape. You do have a re-settable circuit breaker that when tripped, will kill all the power to the bike. If that's the problem the best part is. it's one of the cheapest items to replace. You can pick one up at a auto parts store.,,,
