Default 1979 Low rider Parts Help

Hello all! I am new to this forum and am needing some professional help. I have recently purchased a 'barn find' 1979 HD low rider. When I purchased the bike it was missing the Carburetor. I have been struggling to find a 'new old stock' carb and really just want something that will be plug-and-play. There is some other issues on the bike as well that need taken care of but the Carb being one of the main ones along with redoing all the rubber components, fluid flushes, caliper rebuilds, fuel line replacement, handlebar bushings, tires, bulbs and the list goes on and on. I am wondering if anyone has some knowledge on where I can find a Carb that will be plug-and-play. This is my first Harley but I am not new to riding. I figured you guys would have the best insight of out anyone! If anyone has any links they can attach or Carbs to look at I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks a bunch guys and have a great day!

My Bike Specs from what I've gathered ----

1979 Harley Davidson Low Rider
Model : FXS
Color : White
VIN : 7G42850H9

You may get quicker replies if you list your question in the shovelhead sub forum. Finding an NOS carb may take awhile. You may take a look on eBay and also check J&P Cycles as they have extensine parts lines for the older Harleys.

On my recently sold 72 FX I ran an S&S Super E carb, worked out great. On a 79 FLH I owned way back when DelOrto made a nice kit that came with everything and bolted up easily.

I've had Linkerts, Bendix, Keihin, Mikuni, SU, DelOrto and S&S on various pans and shovels and wthout a doubt to me the DelOrto, Mikuni and S&S were the best.

How about some photos of your barn find.

I'm a fan of doing a CV carb swap from an Evo,easy to find and not hard to do.

Put an S&S E on it and don't look back. I have had all the others and the S&S is the easiest and best performing one out of them all.

Would the S&S E be a direct bolt up and not require any modifications? ready to rock and roll out of the box?

rock & roll plug & pluy
you will have to fiddle with any thing you decide on.
if you want pure simplicity i would suggest mikuni vm round slide in a 40mm body.
i had one on my 1974fx and still have one on my 1974ch with nearly 200k miles on it. very easy to tune, parts are easy to find and i does not have an accel pump. cold start is a one lever push, hands off start.
i hope that intake was blanked off during storage or you may have other problems.
