Hi All,
I did a lot of surfing and buying gear to upgrade my ride if this snow ever melts! Short story long, I went searching for an easy spreadsheet to keep track of my now 1-year-old Street Glide maintenance and add-ons, found one on a Kawasaki forum page, but it was a 9mb file and way overkill for what I wanted!
Cut to the chase I downloaded a couple of templates and fine-tuned them for what I wanted, Sharing here, no charge and not looking for any payback, if you like the way it looks like it and email me I'll upload it to Media Fire and send you the link to download it, my pc is protected with Norton (no not the bike) and I will scan the file before I upload it!
Place to track your UPGRADES! Keeping track of Your rides service!
To the admins if this is the wrong area on the forums please move it to the correct place, I tried searching for logs, maintenance before posting here!
I just make my own spreadsheets, tab for each bike. Across top mileage and date, left column task or whatever. I keep dates of when i added stuff, something failed, code, ect.
I then highlighted and grouped some things, and big stuff easy to see. I then tried to copy it for each bikes.
I have a 3-ring binder with page seperators. I have one section I record everything I do, maintenance, repairs, accessories, etc. I have another section set up to record oil changes. Yes, redundant, but saves me going through the first section. Then a section for brakes and tires. I have plastic "pouches" I store instructions and receipts for accessories, parts, etc. I keep this book in my cabinet in the garage and have it out, with my service manual and parts manual, to record all my doings.
Having on your computer is a good idea, but me being an old fart, I find recording in my binder to be an enjoyable task at the end of projects.
It is a good deal to record and track all your work. That way you have an idea of what needs to be done, or when, or whatever.
I have an Excel Spreadsheet, 2 tabs for the bike, one for the car
Note the mileage date & what I did
Other tab is for thing I want to buy or Notes etc
I have approx the same thing for my house
I just write all in my owners manual that came with the bike...
I keep track of more than just oil changes, and keep my bikes for long time. I like to add when things failed, or upgrades.
what I have been doing lately, which can stress copying down in official log, is I have page in garage with big stuff, and I do scratch in there when I do changes. Tires, brakes, battery, lubes, oil. That I can glance at.
