For certain units of the High Position Motorcycle Lift (Item # 99887), the welds may be susceptible to fatigue cracking. Further, the tubing quality for certain units may be insufficient to repeatedly lift the rated load. The inconsistent weld quality and/or inconsistent tubing may cause the product to fall and/or drop the load, posing a risk of injury and/or property damage. IMMEDIATELY STOP USING THE HIGH POSITION MOTORCYCLE LIFT. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REPAIR THE PRODUCT. Affected units were sold between October 6, 2008, and February 23, 2023.
I have this lift (stock photo) . So far never had an issue in the 5 years I've had it. But not taking the chance. What pisses me off is them giving a gift certificate instead of a cash refund. BTW, how much is the gift card, anyone know?

For some reason they gave me "retail price"....which had to be on two gift cards. $200 and $135...apparently each gift card could only have $200 max. So I got $335 ($309+ tax)
Here's the kicker. The price was $199 when I bought it...I used a 25% off coupon...so I paid $150. I about choked when they gave me more than double what I paid and even said so to the manager. He said "have fun spending it". Bizarre.
I have no idea how to spend $300+ dollars at HF.
As far as "no cash back"...A gift card is better than nothing.
I am going to buy the electric telescoping chainsaw for tree trimming. My friend has one and they work great for small branches.
For the record, I've always had good luck with HF. I've never had anything break...but i'm not a professional mechanic. Just a garage/backyard dude. I never had any issues with this lift, it served me well but I have not used it in at least 3 years because that bike is gone now. I was going to list it for sale on CL and did a search for details on the lift from HF and came across the recall. I thought I would maybe be able to get $50 it on CL.
