Anyone Have This Problem
When I picked up the bike 2.5 years ago it would just go into that limp mode, dropping the rear cylinder, dead throttle,
check engine light on.
I replaced the throttle and the problem seemed to be solved. Then it started going into that limp mode again.
The shop I was dealing with (who closed last summer) went in and worked on the bike again. Said that the wiring
for the throttle was stretched and fixed the issue. This was like 2 years ago
On a Saturday May 20th of this year I stopped for the night in Oneida Tennessee.. Had gone up to Kentucky and was coming home
The bike was running great no issues mechanical wise going up or coming home
I stopped in Oneida Tennessee for the night and got up the next morning start the bike and as soon as I start it
the check engine light comes on and goes into that limp mode. Babied her all the way home with a few hiccups on the 3
hour ride home.
I have the bike in a shop where the guy works on Harleys out of his garage. He told me that his bike was doing the same thing
and he found that (like I said) the throttle wires were stretched and cracking. He also told me that there were 4 wires to that
throttle by wire set up.
I also read on a facebook forum a guy who posted was having the same problem on a 2010 Ultra Classic
If this is an ongoing problem why hasn't Harley corrected the issue with a recall or something
Has anyone had this problem?
Had to trailer it back to the shop where I live and the wires were worked on and rearranged to another position rather than going under the air cleaner rerouted over the air cleaner and EFI and the connector behind the EFI was cleaned and that electric grease applied.
This was all 2 years ago.
I'm just wondering if this is an ongoing problem and has anyone else had this problem. I know Harley ain't gonna do anything
But there's always wishful thinking.
He said a code was thrown for the 02 sensor/s and connectors. I'm guessing that would be the one behind the throttle body
That one was cleaned 2 years ago and did call and ask the mechanic about it. It's just down to tracking it down
See what gets me is this has been a problem when I first got the bike 2.5 years ago. And hasn't done this in 2 years. AND it had to pick when I was coming home from a road trip. When it gets out of the shop me and Elvira gonna have a talk about this. She probably won't listen tho
15k on the bike.
I wired in a new connector and hard soldered it.
no problems in 3 years.
This is a common problem.

I had a situation similar to yours. Riding home from work the engine sputtered and cut out.
The bike had several codes:
P1511: Power Management
P1514: ETC Airflow fault/Error
P2105: EFI Forced engine Shut down
P2135: TPS Correlation error
I have not resolve the issue yet.
