I have a 2008 heritage classic and it has got a problem.
After starting the bike when the engine is cold it starts immediately .
When the engine is warm and I want to start it again it is not working.
When the engine warm and I stop and I would like to restart the ignition is working but the bike does not run. I cannot go faster than 80 miles/h with it. After 20 mins when the engine has been cooled it start running again.
Look at the condition of the hoses and fuel regulator in the tank. It is common for the lines to get tiny holes, so if you prime the pump you might be able to see or hear gas hitting the inside of the tank.

Certainly common but I`m not sure why it would be heat related.
The symptoms sound like a coil problem. Runs bad when hot or quits, won start and when allowed to sit for a bit and cool down, starts and runs good and then does the same thing over and over.
Another issue I had on my 08 Heritage was the battery had a bad cell. It would start good, then if I stopped for gas or something similar, push the button nothing happened. It was an intermittent thing and I was never really sure if it would start. This happened when I was in California on a trip, so I had a local HD dealer do a load test on the battery. Sure enough, it had a bad cell. Replaced the battery and no more problems.
