Everything involved in changing handlebars

Has anyone changed the handlebars on a fatboy to the Heritage bars? Will the existing cable/brakeline be long enough? or not? How can you tell if they need to be swapped as well. Thanks in advance guys.

Let me add this, on my 2004 fatboy I went to 05 wideglide bars, not as tall as the hertitage, I took my tank off and the wiring would have been long enough for the heritage bars but the clutch cable and brake line was not long enough, I went with magnum shielding cables and brake lines for the replacement. depending on what brake lines you have you maybe able to just get the upper extension and not the entire brake line.

Unbolt the top clamp and lift the bars to what you think the new bars will be.
Then you'll see what you need to replace.
Leave slack for turning the bars.
