I use Stabil with a fresh tank of non-ethanol premium gas making sure I run it long enough to go through the whole system.
With that done and a battery tender hooked up she fires right up in the spring after the long winter nap.

I've been using Star Bright Startron Enzyme fuel treatment with good luck.
I have a boat with a carbureted 3.0 litre Mercruiser that sat for 2 1/2 years with Phoenix's junk 10% ethanol gas that I had treated with Startron.
I thought I'd need a carb rebuild. But it fired up and runs great.

Using the prescribed amount of SeaFoam in your gas you can feel free to ride the bike anyway. It's a cleaner, too.
Using too much is no bueno, though. It could get your winter oil dirty doing that. Just read the can. The Sportster I bought in April this year ran 8 tanks of treated gas going through one 16 oz can getting its injectors cleaned up from over two years of storage.
I've used it storing my bikes through the long Ohio winters since year 2000, they always start up like they were never parked.

Meh - Ottawa is moderate compared to the edge of North American Siberia here. You're fine. Guys are still out riding here in 55 degrees F. I'm putting up woodpiles, then it's snowmobiling season.
