first consider the torque wrench, some are ambidextrous and some are not. the ones that are will be fairly close each way as the probably use the spring tip over system.
if you use strain gauge digital they will be close.
then there is the beam wrench that will have both L/R scales.
when doing industrial work, we used a hydraulic system especially in tight quarters when a handle type will not fit like in a crankcase.
you can check your wrench yourself with known weights and ratio.
youtube has many but be careful as some do not know how to use the wrenches, one dude what using a beam to calibrate a clicker and was 20 off, but, look how he was holding it. with the beam to be most accurate, your handle hand must be holding the handle neutral at torque point, if the handle pivots and touches the beam, it will be off.
