Good morning riders,
Firstly, I hope this question is in the correct section. I live and ride in NYC where there are as many illegal scooters as there are cars. That said, I have dash cams on both my cars and want to add one to my Heritage.
My question.....My cameras all come with a cigarette lighter plug for power. I have the camera neatly adhered to my windshield on the inside. I have a dual tender plug on my bars for my sound system that has two usb female power ports. Is there a way that I can remove the lighter plug from the camera wire and replace it with a usb male connector to plug into the tender power port on my bars? I'm not very techy with electronics and not sure there are male usb connectors that can be wired to the camera power cable. I know I could hard wire it to the bike but also like the idea of being able to remove the camera simply if necessary.
Just thought I would throw this out to you guys because you all have helped me so much with my bike.
Thanks in advance
I may not have explained it clearly. I already have a dual USB battery tender installed on the bars, one port powers the sound system and I want to modify the camera power cable from the factory lighter plug to USB male plug so I can plug it into the second USB port.
