I dont know if your year nacelle is different than my 08 but I used the new sunpie with the old ring and it fit no problem. They give you the ring because some applications need...I've also installed one in my 98 electra glide using the stock ring. I've installed a couple in a few different years street glides...08, 10 and a 15 all worked with just using the new light and old everything else. Good luck...I hate when stuff doesn't fit.

I haven't been able to determine if my nacelle is different than the '08 or not. I thought for sure that it was going to work by removing the ring, which Sunpie told me I needed ... and it did come real close.
Not sure if you can tell from the pics or not, but the tabs kept the light sticking out too far so to make it work I would have to grind off some of those three tabs. I've spent hours trying to make this light work and I'm frustrated so just decided to send it back. The price was good and it got good reviews from others but I hate having to hack up new equipment to make it work.
Thanks so much for your input

I had the same issues fitting a Sunpie headlight to my 2012 FLHP. I used a file to carefully remove material from those three tabs until it would set far enough into the factory bracket to install the chrome trim ring. Ive ridden it for approx. a year and several thousand miles with no problems.

Good to know. I was going to do that but was afraid I’d be stuck with it if it didn’t work.
They told me I needed the bracket but obviously that wasn’t so. It will be cheaper to get it without that anyway.
thanks for that information!
