Default Using vinyl disposables inside my winter gloves

I've been trying this for a few weeks now, riding in cold temps, mid-30's to mid 40's. I definitely am feeling a difference using 'surgical' gloves as an additional layer inside my new Olympia (non-heated) 4352 All Season II winter gloves. I've tried a few different kinds of the disposables I have around the house, and I think the most effective against the cold are the clear vinyl kind. For those of you unfamiliar with the different types of 'rubber' gloves, the vinyl material is kind of a loose-fit. They don't 'snap' and fit super tight like neoprene, or nitrile/latex. They're perfect for easy off and on.

Just putting this out there for those of you who like to ride in the winter, and don't have heated gloves. The thin xtra layer helps.
If I were taking a long trip in the cold, there's no question, I would 100% invest in heated rechargeables. There's nothing else that makes the grade, IMO. But I don't have to go any farther than I want to, so in the cold weather I limit my riding to local. And I generally don't go out if the temps dip into the 20's or lower. Not to say NEVER, but mostly, no.

And of course, because I'm not doing anything remotely abusive to the disposables, one pair lasts a long time for this application.

Using that inner layer absolutely works. A vinyl glove doesn't let air move through. So, it traps air next to your skin, your hand warms that air and keeps it warm. Since it's inside your actual glove, that provides more insulation.

Give it a try! Costs pennies, and really helps!

I’ve used neoprene gloves over my normal gloves. I may have to try them inside my gloves.

Thanks

I use the same gloves year 'round. $10 Wells Lamont from Home Depot that I cut the finger tips off. Heated grips and hand guards are the ticket.

I use the heavier nitryl mechanic gloves instead of rain gloves, doesn't matter what type of rain glove I've used they haven't worked.....

It'll work until you sweat.
I put hand warmers in my gloves.
