send the heads and jugs to hillside and let scott work his magic. he can get that stud out and give those heads a street port and a compression bump and bore the cylinders to a 107. give him a call and let his set you up according to your riding style.
Admittedly I pulled the head off while my service manual was still being shipped. It arrived a few days ago and Im reviewing the procedures for reinstalling the head. Step 30 has you install the pushrods, but step 31 has you install the rocker arm support plate requiring you to find top dead center. My engine is still in the frame so I would have to cover the top of the intake lifter while rotating the engine. Idk Im kind of confused
that JIm's tool is exactly what i use and it works GREAT!! you just have to take your time. I have done LOTS of these and as always some are harder to do than others, but to me having that tool was worth every penny it cost to buy it. I understand its not neccessarily for the home mech, but for a pro, it's a must have!!!
